The brief

Pressa needed a trivia game that felt fast and competitive — real-time 1v1 duels, a deep question bank across many categories, and a launch on both iOS and Android without a duplicated codebase or app-store re-submissions every time new questions ship.

The approach

  1. 01

    Built the app in Expo with TypeScript and NativeWind, so iOS and Android share a single codebase and design language.

  2. 02

    Modelled 1v1 gameplay in Supabase realtime — matchmaking, live duel rooms, scoring and presence — with optimistic UI for the round transitions.

  3. 03

    Wired EAS Update so the team can ship copy, balancing tweaks and new question packs without an app-store review.

  4. 04

    Integrated RevenueCat for in-app purchases and built an event pipeline that tracks round length, drop-off and retention cohorts.

The outcome

One Expo codebase ships to both stores. The product team pushes new question packs, balancing changes and seasonal events over-the-air — the loop between idea and player is measured in hours, not weeks.
